Colors Rooted in Nature
Hi, I’m Lesya, the maker behind New Earth Colors.
My family and I are fortunate to live off-grid on a forested property, over 300 miles from the nearest major city. Surrounded by quiet woods, fresh air, and untouched nature, it’s a world away from the industrial cities I grew up in, including New York City. Living here has taught me to slow down, appreciate simplicity, and connect deeply with the natural rhythms of life.
My husband and I are building our homestead by hand. We live in a self-built tiny house and are slowly creating a larger home for our family. This life — close to the land, seasonal, and intentional — inspires everything I make.
Every garment begins with the highest-quality natural fabrics I can find. One of my favorites is Pendleton wool — local, pure, and crafted to last. The colors in my work are grown in my garden or gathered from the surrounding landscape, then carefully transformed into natural dyes. These materials are gentle on the skin, safe to wear, and carry a quiet, natural beauty that can’t be replicated by synthetic alternatives.
Each piece is made by hand, one at a time, with care and attention to every detail. If you don’t see your size, I’m always happy to create a custom piece just for you.
Thank you for supporting handmade work and for valuing clothing created with care, intention, and respect for the natural world.
